After being somewhat amused by today’s Mutt’s comic strip (amusement due partially to the humor of the strip and partially to this afternoon’s heat that’s rendered me partially delirious), I decided to scour my files for a collection of images, curated with attention to the land, in honor of Earth Day, which is not celebrated in Cambodia today, but it probably wouldn’t hurt for it to be recognized here, any day of the year. Is that an unfair value judgment claim? The messages in American cartoon strips are universally relevant themes, even in Cambodia, correct?

The point is, as much environmental waste, pollution, and abuse there is here, there is as much beauty in the landscape, an image in which Cambodians have place strong historic nostalgia and social sentiment.
